The best way is to find a topic which will spur conversation. The lunch line provides ample opportunity for this. Get next to her and go from there.
Example:
If you have a choice in what to eat (let's say pizza or hamburger), and you hear her say pizza, you could say something simple like ';no a fan of hamburgers?';, which will cause her to respond, and thus you have a conversation. When you are about to split ways and go to your respective tables, quickly introduce yourself and say ';have a nice lunch';, and then leave. The next time you see her, you can always comment on her lunch again by saying something like ';still hating on hamburgers, huh?';

A funny joke you can be a good start. Like: '; hey I lost my number can I have yours '; lol (its cheesy I know) but if she has a good sense of humor than she'll laugh and then you can start small talk.

an easy way? if she's not too shy, bring something awesome to school like a huge stuufed animal...just something weird or even dye your hair (i did a streak of blue) shell just say i love ur stuffed animal/hair!!! it worked for me in the lunchlunes and class
Try talking to her by asking a question about something she's interested in and one you're confident she knows the answer to. All girls like feeling smart. Go from there. And compliment her on something you know noone else has today!
Bring up the menu or something...then take it from there. Its in you, you are a man, its in your genes.
