Learning a language can be hard, but very rewarding at the end if you work hard at it.
It's also fun. Don't worry about it, and have fun while still paying attention and taking notes.

Unfortunately, the most commonly used verbs are the one that have irregular conjugations, however, they'll be much easier to learn and apply once you have the rules down pat.
Masculine words don't always have masculine traits. Get use to it. (same for feminine words).
There are two words for ';but';, don't expect to learn the differences in one day. (por and para)
Realize that learning a second language is about 20% figuring it out, and 80% memorization. There's no way to get around this. That said, you can often guess and get it close or even right (.....and sometimes dreadfully wrong e.g. ';false cognates';)
They say the ';house red'; rather than the ';red house';.
That said, the order of things in sentences doesn't matter as much:
Voy a la casa (I go to the house)
A la casa Voy. (To the house I go)
(it sounds cavemanish, but it's correct to say either way). And note that ';Voy'; (I go) comes from the verb ';ir'; and is irregular
Lastly, if you have a choice in teachers, check em both out and talk to people. There is a very wide range when it comes to language teachers.
You may consider picking up a $25 CD course and going through the first of it. They do a fair job of starting you from absolute 0 and making it interactive and fun. Whatever time you spend on it, will probably reduce your studying in the class by 50% or more.
Once you can ask someone (in Spanish) why they say X instead of Y, you're learning will take off (especially if you're living in a Spanish speaking country).

So from having been 16--16 yrs ago, I can honestly say that what I think of good advice now, and from that time, are different.
Now its what will benefit my situation %26amp; myself more %26amp; its ok if I don't agree with it if I think overall it may work.
When I %26amp; Most ppl I knew when I was 16--if I didn't like it, didn't agree with it, or if it made me change who I thought I should be or act differently--well then it was bad advice.

Sunless tanning lotions give you an orange type of look so definitely avoid those. Use lotions like Jergens Natual Glow or anything similar, those lotions have bronzers and ingredients in them that adhere to the skin better and gives it a more natural look. Use them on your legs and anywhere else that's too ';pale'; (be sure to spread the lotion evenly), use your regular lotion on the darker skin areas, make sure that your regular body lotion does not have any type pigment. Also get a good face bronzer like Cover Girl Bronzer and wear it over your make up, use them in place of red/pink blush (even if you don't wear make-up yet a face bronzer helps with uneven skin tones). Remember that the amount is key, don't over do it, and try to be as even as possible with the applications. Hope this help.

My housemate suffers from depression. She went to her GP who reffered her on to a specialist where she got diagnosed. She's now on medication (though you can ask not to be put on any) and is seeing a psychartist and is doing much much better. She did have to wait about 6 months on the NHS.
I would highly reccommend getting it seen to professionally.
You don't always need to see your doctor to access counselling services. There are many charities that can help and are either free or offered at a lower cost than paying someone privately.
With most counselling, it is brief focused meaning that they allocate you anything up to 6 sessions, now initially that may seem quite scary and limiting especially if you feel that you have a lot of things to sort out, but it's amazingly effective as it helps you to focus and prioritise your worries.
As another source of help and/or another way of accessing some of these services, you can contact The Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90 who not only will listen to you and are open 24/7, they also hold lists of local organisations that will be able to help you.
If you are at college or uni, they have (or should have) a student counsellor that may be able to help you. Ask around or see your Student Union for help in finding them. Also, the Student Union holds details of local organisations too.
Although it may feel like it, you are not on your own.

I am 13, and have been active since I was 6, and having periods since i was 8. I have what the doctors calls ';premature libido';, and this runs in my family, in almost every female member as far back as we know of. Some girls in my high school wanted to become pregnant at this early age in order to hold onto boyfriends who were pressuring them for (1) sex (in order to demonstrate their virility) and (2) in order to get out of their own homes by receiving welfare. If there is something that is driving your daughter out of the house, you should find out what it is. Some of these girls in my youth were victims of incest and didn't dare tell their moms. Some were being beaten at home by stepfathers or stepbrothers. They saw this having a baby as their only way out of a truly impossible situation. Back then, there were no women's shelters for them to turn to and they had no other relatives they could ask for help.
So I'd say you first need to have some long heart-to-hearts with your daughter to find out what's behind this adamant desire. Begin educating her on all that's involved in caring for a child, as if you were going along with the idea, so that you can get her to open up. Because if worst comes to worst and she does go through with it and does get pregnant, you'll be picking up the pieces. You don't want her running away and having that baby by herself and becoming a prostitute because she feels she has no other options -- as some of those girls in my high school ended up doing.
She is a baby herself. Let me take her to work with me one day. I am a midwife on labour ward. I can soon put it out of her mind.
Does she think this is a fashion accessory? You must do anything and everything to make her realise that not only could she become pregnant but she could also become HIV positive, Hepatitis positive, catch chlamydia, ghonerra, herpes not to mention many other permanent damage.

She needs to have one of those fake babies they assign in school nowadays. The ones that do EVERYTHING a real baby does. She needs to try to take care of it, all while having to find a trusting babysitter so that she can go to work to provide for that baby. Every single teenager I know of that has experienced this ';baby';, they change their minds.
Having a baby is not like having a stuffed toy. You can't get sick of it one day and think never mind.

of there is an injection you can get which lasts 3 months.
eitherof these will at least stop her getting pregnant.
in the mean time she might want to talk to other teen mums to find out how hard it really is. that might help put her off
Well...I would say that she needs to enjoy her youth. Babies having babies is not the answer. You will probably end up taking care of the baby anyways. I know several people who decided to have a baby at age 16 and wish they would have waited. It's hard raising a baby~ expensive, mentally and physically exhausting, and that is married and mid-20's . I can't imagine being 14 and single...someone needs a wake up call!
Have you talked to your daughter about how much work it is to have a baby? I'm guessing you have. Perhaps you could get one of those dolls that they use in High Schools, that cry and act like a real baby. Or you could have her try to take care of an infant for a few days and see if she changes her mind. I hope that you find something that works. Having a baby is not easy!
just tell her that instead of having a baby, she has to concentrate on her study.. tell her that if she wants to study, she will get a nice job and collect more money.. if she has a baby, she will be dizzy thinking about the baby's daily needs.. it costs lots of money.. moreover we're in global financial crisis right??

I'm in grade 6 and I always found schoolwork really easy. And I just found out that in Maths, I had been doing Year 7 work and I hadn't noticed because it still seemed easy! Is there anything I can do to challenge myself? search around, there's always advanced programs that you can go into, not nescessarily for gr.7 though. Don't move up a grade, it'll be all awkard for you, (yet if you do decide to, move first, so you will get a fresh start which can make the awkardness easier).
Yet ur only in Gr.6, it's too soon to tell what kind of academic person you are. Work hard in grades 7 and 8, and if you still think it's easy, check if there's an IB school in your area.
For now, if you want to, ask your teachers about the gifed test.
btw, i don't know where you live, so i can only suggest IB(search on google, it's a very well-known program), and AP courses in high school(AP=Advanced Placement, you're basically taking a advanced course that's harder than the Ontario curriuculum).

Fruit is a great snack, and easy to prepare. Bananas, strawberries, oranges, apples, pears, grapes, and even the ';exotics'; like star fruit, papaya, kiwi, mango.
Get a mixer some fruit, add yogurt or soy milk and make smoothies.
Crackers and cream cheese or cheddar is quick and easy.
Popcorn can be made during the meeting in a microwave, or use a hot-air popper.

Gorp-cheese and crackers-fruit slices-pretzel sticks and peanut butter-celery and cream cheese
Are you trying to do this as a program activity or just to feed them? If it's a program activity, you may need to let it go long - that's part of the experience of the girls actually doing the snack making; they won't be anywhere near as quickly and well as you could the first time, but they'll learn.
Homemade fruit salad is a good one - it gets them cutting different types of fruit, mixing, depending how you do it, they may be able to mix their own favorite variety.
Smoothies were a huge hit with my Brownie troop; we used one of those hand-held blenders and each girl could put whatever mixture of yogurt flavors and fruit she wanted into a large cup, use the mixer, then we dipped it in a huge cup of water to rinse it clean(ish) between girls to keep things speedy.
Of course, if you just want to *feed* them, fresh fruit and pretzels are always good easy choices (my troop met in the evening for the past few years, either right before or right after each girl had dinner, so we didn't have a formal snack, but we always had a bag of pretzels and water available if someone was *really* too hungry to concentrate - it's amazing how the less interesting the snack is, the less of a draw it is unless you're truly hungry).

Try to figure out his quirks.. the quicker you do the quicker things will start to go smoothly.. little things, like leaving the tap running when he was brushing his teeth, or cutting his hotdogs up into 5 length wise peices ... not 4 not 6.. 5! these were all little things that his mom could not possibly tell me every little quirk, as she likley didnt even notice them any more...

But when it comes to insecurity..you just need to have a lot of confidence and dont care what other people think..and people like that. If there's one thing that i learned from my freshman year is that i wouldn't risk my reputation for anything stupid. I don't mean the popular-girl rep but the one that matters in the long run..the rep you have with teachers and friends. Its hard to form second opinions about people so its best to make the first one good because its gonna stick!
I've also learned that boys aren't worth bad grades. My first year of high school was new and exciting- its like you're exposed to this new world that's kept secret from the rest of the school! Don't ever let things get out of hand and always be in control

If there's one thing that i learned from my freshman year is that i wouldn't risk my reputation for anything stupid. I don't mean the popular-girl rep but the one that matters in the long run..the rep you have with teachers and friends. Its hard to form second opinions about people so its best to make the first one good because its gonna stick!
I've also learned that boys aren't worth bad grades. My first year of high school was new and exciting- its like you're exposed to this new world that's kept secret from the rest of the school! Don't ever let things get out of hand and always be in control

if you went to private school before then there might be some big changes going on, but to be completely honest the private schools in my area were always just as wild and the public ones! high school is gonna have alot of new experiences and changed regardless of where you are.
you might feel better about making this change if you do something new for yourself such as getting a new hair cut or color or buys a few new great outfits. do something for yourself that will give you a boost of confidence in entering this new school!

This means one awesome thing, you can make friends with WHOever you want and with AS MANY as you want.
Have fun. Being in a public high school was the best experience for me. I made friends from every possible social group. It made college much more fun.

make sure you make a wide range of friends not just one particular group..be diverse..avoid locker room gossip..or any gossip for that matter...don't trust anyone unless you are 100% sure about their characters..now a days people seem to have hidden agendas...if you want to out for a sport don't let anything stop you ..be confident at anything and everything you...turn in all your work..take advantage of extra credit..try to avoid conflict as much as possible...believe me i graduated h.s. and if i knew the things i know now ..things would have ran a lot smoother throughout my high school years....oh and make sure you save a lot of money for senior year it gets a pretty expensive..
study hard, learn as much as you can
have a goal in mind
involve yourself in extra activities
stay physically active
Do not let social activities interfere too much with the more important goal of learning.

It's pretty cool that you want to start weight training, I wish it were more popular among young women. If you plan on going to a gym, make sure to have a member of the staff or an experienced gymgoer show you proper lifting form and a variety of different exercises. Don't make the mistake of only using the machines for ';girls,'; since most gyms seem to think that girls need to do 300 reps at 5 lbs, which won't help you at all.
You'll have to up your caloric intake to gain mass. Try to eat a small protein-rich meal every four hours, with plenty of nutritious fruits and veggies and a moderate intake of fat as well. Increase your water intake, decrease your salt intake and cut out carbonated drinks.

The rhythm of life in NYC is SUPER fast. People walk, talk and live fast over there. Most people are nice but they might be rough if they are in a hurry or feel threatened so don't make rash decisions about anyone. You will meet people from every race, creed and color on the planet so this will be very interesting. Since most people came from somewhere else you won't have any trouble finding someone to show you the ropes. Traffic is impossible so learn to take the subway instead of driving (that's how real New Yorkers live). The cost of living is astronomical so be ready to pay a lot to live in a tiny apartment unless you're willing to go live in the boroughs or New Jersey. Most neighborhoods have small grocery stores instead of supermarkets so think about getting a shopping cart it you need lots of groceries. You will have a chance to do it all and see it all and this wil be an experience you'll never forget.What advice can you give a Southern girl who is moving to NYC in a few months? I assume you come from a smaller, lesser-known town down south. Well, if that is so (and correct me if it is not), then you need to get used to a lot of people. And I mean A LOT of people. And some of these people aren't very friendly. If you're walking in the street, and someone bumps into you, very few actually stop and ask if you're okay. Expect that.
Expect a lot of fun things to do. There are endless possibilities of what you can do, where you can eat, etc. when you're living in the big city, and that can be a bit of a change from down south, if I'm not mistaken.
All in all, you need to expect A LOT of different changes, many HUGE, like the entire fact that you're moving to one of the most populated cities in the country, and many smaller ones that one would deal with when moving houses; you'll need to adjust to a new school, new friends, new people, new enviornment. It can be a little scary.
I hope I helped, and I don't mean to intimidate if it feels as though I am. NYC is one of the greatest places to live, and I'm just trying to get you used to what you might have to deal with on a day to day basis. Hope I've helped otherwise. Enjoy the big city!!

Room for boy and girl decoration advice please?
I have a 14 month old girl, I am pregnant and I live in a 2 bed flat. If its a boy I still want them to share until daughter is around 8 years old.
The room is currently completely pink so obviously I will have to decorate it, but I can't really afford to change the pink carpet so what could I do to make the room look less girly and more neutral whilst still keeping the carpet?Room for boy and girl decoration advice please?

Add some more neutral tones such as brown, tan, beige, or denim. The denim can provide the blue for your new one if you are having a boy. If not, it's still unisex, so it will just be a cool yet different way to decorate a room for 2 girls.
It doesn't have to get expensive. Adding some pillows here and there, and changing drapes or curtains is really all you need.

My daughters 2 and I have the same problem as expecting again.
We were thinking of painting the room a pale lime green which will go well with either pink or blue and getting stuff from Ikea as they do kiddies stuff thats good for boys or girls and will still look ok together
My brother is in the same situation! I have an almost 3-year-old neice and a newborn nephew. In my opinion--you just can't go wrong with Winnie the Pooh! You can find both newborn and toddler accessories in Pooh! Lol...my son's room happens to be pooh...but for paint...try a multiple colors (like a top/bottom wall color with a border in between. My son's room is purple/very very light green with a painted on border. The insided of his closet is blue and the trim is very very light yellow. Definitely unisex.
Toss in a lot of blue or green on the baby boy's side of the room. The blue side will obviously show it's a little boys territory, regardless of what color the carpet is. Congrats!
You can buy stickarounds to put on the wall and these could be something unisex like Peter Rabbit or something.
my friend had the same problem so she divided the room into 2, half for the boy and half for the girl. she left the girls side pink and painted the boys side blue with a blue rug and a magnolia stripe as the divide colour! that way your daughter wont feel as though her space has been totaly taken over either!

Decorate the room in bright reds, yellows, blues etc. with a neutral colour on the walls like white or very light yellow. Underwater theme, jungle safari theme, stars and moon theme.
Another option is to divide the room and creat their own space using neutral colours on the walls and creating a special place for each of the kids. Sounds like fun, enjoy!
Find a big rug (like at home depot or walmart) and look for one that has blue in it. I've seen one's that have had streets with cars and buildings, they also have ones with animals. Leave the side that your daughter is going to stay on pink and color the wall on the side that your son is going to be on blue or green. You can decorate your daughters side girly or leave it the way it is and decorate your son's side with boys stuff.
By the way, you might want to check the laws on that, there are some states that don't allow a boy and a girl to sleep in the same room after a certain age. Good luck!

First of all, give them seperate space by attaching a wire at both ends of the room and hang a curtain...you can make it yourself so that you can make it double-sided with girl fabric on one side and boy fabric on the other. (You may need to do the curtain in a diagonal across the room depending on how it is set up)
Put down some rugs on the boy side of the room (you can on the girl side too if you want)
If there is a window on each side of the room be sure to do window treatments to match the fabric of the curtain on that side.
Give each side of the room a theme: boats, trains, planes, cars, safari...butterflies, flowers, hello kitty, you name it.
There are lots of books at The Home Depot and Lowes that have great ideas in them. If you aren't sure what to get to put up the curtain you can ask someone at Home Depot they are usually really helpful!
How about silver? Then you can always add spaceships etc if you want and glow in the dark stars are always popular with both sexes (and all ages..)

I just painted my daughter's (who was tired of pink) room. we painted it teal blue and a light moss green. I used a glaze to paint stripes. the glaze sparkles during the day and glows at night. instead of replacing the carpet I'd maybe get a neutral color throw rug.
The rule of neutral colors as far as babies are concerned is yellow, green, and tan.
Or maybe split the room. leave one side as is and paint the other blue with totally boyish decor. that would be neat.
Chocolate brown is a really popular color right now and every where you look it's matched up with baby pink and baby blue. Good luck.
A Dora the Explorer and Diego theme would satisfy both and there must be some pink in their cartoon somewhere
Paint the walls a light spring-ish green color. The green and pink will accent each other and you will have a ';boy'; color on teh walls and a ';girl'; color on the floor.

light yellow is a color that works for both.you could have the walls yellow and the decorative wall paper with ducks and stuff and the carpet, u could jut paint it beige or something with a special paint
I have a boy and girl (twins) sharing a room, so I just made it all neutral.....its like a magnolia type colour with a brown and turquoise border...........that sounds horrible doesn't it?!?!? Its not, its lovely - it has little teddies and bunnies and things on it...

i'm in the process of decorating my little boy(6) and little girl(3)s room that they share. Now we had it white to be fair... boring. it is now painted bright red.the framework is pink and the carpet is blue. We are replacing the carpet soon with laminate. But my little boy supports liverpool so loves the red. and my princess loves her pink door! it looks fab and not too girly or too boyish. He has a red duvet and she has a pink one. buy some cool rugs from ikea cos they are cheap. good luck.
What are the floorboards like underneath? because you could rip the carpet up and varnish the floor if it is good nick. If not i guess you could paint the room cream and accessorise with blue to implement both boy and girls colours.buy make up
