Best advice for a girl going to college in the fall?

From experience, what are some things I should know about being a freshman in college. Something that books can't tell me.Best advice for a girl going to college in the fall?
I took 18 credits and could have handled another 6.... it's all relative. The school usually helps you setup your first semester course load so you don't become overloaded (at least mine did my first semester).

Dont buy books from the bookstore. Buy them used, online. You'll save yourself thousands of dollars.Best advice for a girl going to college in the fall?
It's going to be VERY different from high school. I'm pretty positive that you're gonna love it.

Don't take too many credits. Take the standard 12, which is four classes. You don't want to be boggled down your first semester, or even your second. So far I've stuck with 12 and I'm doing a good job. A friend of mine took 18 credits her first semester and it was rough for her.

Going into college is going to be an experience. Enjoy it!
First semester you should take the minimum number of hours to be considered full-time.

If you are going to move out of your parents house and move into a dorm or somewhere near school be prepared to be scared at first but after a week or two you will be calling it home! (I promise!)

Remember to attend class and read directions to avoid looking like an idiot!

Buy your books online via half.com, amazon or a ton of other places. (go to the bookstore before the semester to find the books for your classes and write down the ISBN #'s, which are on the back of the book by the bar code, and find those books online for way cheaper!)
